RIGHT AND WRONG THINKING
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…” — Proverbs 23:7 (KJV)
Did you know that the condition of a person’s life is closely connected to the condition of their thinking? The Bible teaches that as a man thinks in his heart, so he becomes. This means that thoughts are not neutral; they shape attitudes, influence decisions, and ultimately determine the direction of one’s life. As believers, learning to think in alignment with God’s Word is essential for living a victorious Christian life.
Wrong thinking develops when our mind is shaped primarily by fear, doubt, negative experiences, or the values of the world. When you continually entertain thoughts of defeat, limitation, or impossibility, those thoughts begin to influence your words and actions. Over time, this pattern of thinking can produce discouragement, instability, and a lack of confidence in God’s promises. You must reject wrong thinking.
Right thinking, on the other hand, is formed when we renew our minds with the truth of God’s Word. The Bible reveals God’s perspective on life, identity, and purpose. So, as you study and meditate on the Word, your mind gradually begins to align with divine truth. This transformation allows you to see circumstances through the lens of FAITH rather than through the limitations of human reasoning.
Each day, you will be faced with choices about what thoughts to accept and what thoughts to reject. Thoughts that contradict God’s Word must be strongly resisted, while thoughts that agree with Scripture should be embraced and cultivated. Through this process, you will develop a mindset that reflects the wisdom and character of Christ. Right thinking also strengthens FAITH. When your mind is filled with God’s promises, fear loses its influence and your confidence in God grows stronger. At this stage, you become more capable of responding to challenges with FAITH, wisdom, and patience. A mind governed by God’s Word produces stability and spiritual maturity.
Beloved, from this week, make a decision to guard your mind carefully. Do not allow wrong thinking to take root in your heart. Instead, fill your mind with the truth of God’s Word and allow The Word to shape your thoughts.
Confession
My mind is renewed by the Word of God. I reject every thought that contradicts God’s truth. From today, I think in alignment with The Word, and my thoughts produce FAITH, wisdom, and victory in my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
