Is there a standard way to measure a decorative pillow?

You might think the answer is yes.

But there isn’t one universally accepted industry standard requiring everyone to measure decorative pillows the same way.

Some measure seam to seam.
Others measure corner to corner.

And when you’re making pillows for your own home—or for a client—that difference matters.

I’ve always admired cushions with attached pillow tops. I wondered if I could add an attach pillow top to an ottoman slip cover. I tried it and it worked, but I don’t think I could’ve figured it out without Kim Chagnon of Kim‘s upholstery.

I love Roman shades.
I love linen.
I love linen Roman shades.
I love using sheer voile to line linen Roman shades.
I love adding details to the seams of Roman shades.
For this wide Roman shade, I used a 1/8 inch decorative well cord Europatex in the same and then top stitched it, because why not be different?
