This is making the news this morning, but don't be fooled if you think this isn't happening in Georgia. Corporal Punishment is legal here and students with disabilities are often at the end of the paddle!

This is terrific news for Cobb County families with children on the spectrum - more training is always a good thing! Hope the impact will be felt across the district.
State finds Cobb Schools violated state code for autism protocol first exposed by CBS46 MARIETTA, Ga. (CBS46) — The Cobb County School System must go through additional special needs training after the state says the district mishandled a student with autism.

The US Department of Education just released its Return To School Roadmap. It addresses everything having to do with FAPE, including addressing new Emotional/Social/Behavior issues, Compensatory Services (including delay of evaluation for services) and More.
