Delve with us into the heart of Ireland's vibrant cultural heritage through traditional ways of living in relationship with the land. Our adventure will lead us to places steeped in ecological, archaeological, and cultural significance in the western wilds of Ireland.
Discover hidden stone circles on secluded hillsides, engage with local artisans in their workshops, wander through ancient forests, and visit islands that are living libraries protecting Ireland’s language and heritage.
We’ll visit stone carvers and woodworkers, learn about basketry and traditional food preservation techniques, and experience the wild landscapes that make it all possible.
Get to know the craftspeople and storytellers keeping the skills and spirit of this enchanted island alive.
Living Traditions will weave you into a tapestry of skills, stories, and places of kinship with the land and its history. Lose yourself in the rich narratives of ancient folklore, tales of fairy folk, and the wisdom of generations past while experiencing the myriad of ways these vibrant traditions still thrive. Join us in crafting lasting memories that bridge the gap between past and present, between this world and the other.

Well heeeeey there! It's been a while! Did you know that last month marked TEN YEARS since The Homestead Atlanta was launched? Wild, huh?
While we're not getting back into the biz of hosting workshops just now, we are pleased to report that Atlanta (and beyond) has more learning opportunities than ever; we even spruced up the "Resources" section of the site to reflect some new additions.
Wanna know what's been going on with some of your fav. instructors? Check out the blog post linked below for a quick "where are they now?" update.

✨ Update ✨ For 7+ years, we've connected people with opportunities to learn with their hands & hearts. It’s been a wild and wonderful ride. While The Homestead will remain a digital resource for education in ATL and beyond, today we're sharing that we'll no longer be offering or promoting workshops. This update comes after careful consideration and with lots of love.
We've made a shiny, new website with lots of homesteading and sustainability resources, so check it out! www.thehomesteadatl.com. From time to time, we'll still share fun stuff on here, and - who knows - maybe down the road we'll even do a surprise pop-up event or two.
To each of you who has come with us on this journey: a very heartfelt thank you. You are an important part of our community, and we're so grateful for you. Be sure to also join The Homesteader's Atlanta, a self-moderated Facebook group where you can continue learning from others in the community!
