11 Alive News article: Crisis Resolution Consultants offers School Safety Training in Atlanta, Georgia and to schools throughout the country in the midst of the incident at McNair Discovery Learning Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. Crisis Resolution Consultants also recommends a Crisis Response Team as opposed to arm staff in schools. A Crisis Response Team are trained professionals who are equipped to prevented violence against schools from occurring. They are not security guards, they do not carry guns, and they provide a strong presence of safety for both students and staff. They respond to all situations which could cause harm to the school.

Bullying: Have a plan to respond to bullying in your school. An aggressive stance to respond to bullying should involve parents, police, and school administration.

School Safety Tip: Identify any unusual behaviors of current students such as: their clothing, graffiti on walls, lockers and books that indicate violence or aggression towards school personnel, the government or other students. Check all exit doors throughout the school day for breaches. Install security cameras and alarms on all doors. Hire outside support personnel to monitor hallways and the exterior of the school. Conduct active shooter drills often. Train staff often. Be proactive and not reactive. www.crcmd.com

Have a plan to respond to student behaviors. Don't get caught in their trap. If you're not prepare they will get you. The first plan is to establish a relationship earlier.
