Music Learning Programs at Muse for Life

Greetings everyone,
We have sad news from the Muse front. On November 30th, 2015, Muse for Life will be officially closing down the community inspiration center space at 205 Hilderbrand Drive in Sandy Springs. It has been a wonderful yet challenging 11 years in this location, yet it has become clear that it is time to move on. With our beautiful dance goddess Havalyn needing to pull out so she could pursue her master's degree, we already were thrown in a tailspin. No dance meant a great deal of adjustment. I had hired on a couple more music staff and was ready to give it my all once again, then the construction in the space next door increasingly caused problems. First, noise restricted starting any new yoga and meditation classes. Then in September water was turned off consistently for almost two weeks. We couldn't open the tea house as a result. Then all of October and a week in November, the space became saturated with toxic fumes. I have had to cancel all programming for over a month. It has been a nightmare, and it financially crippled us and has stunted any possibility for growth. I could fight and pursue some legal path, but I am tired of feeling like Hercules pushing the ball up the hill. After 14 years of running and developing the vision and model of Muse for Life, and with having Havalyn collaborate her vision in the past five years, it has been a beautiful journey. And I feel we have created something good and wonderful, yet I am closing with absolutely no money in either my personal or business accounts. I have given everything to this vision, but it is time to throw in the towel, to practice non-attachment, and release the vision fully to the source from which it came. I am grateful to have been able to serve through this space, and I pray that the vision of Muse for Life will carry on...just not with the overhead of a space.

It is with sad hearts that we communicate this, yet we feel blessed to have been able to explore creativity, health, and community connection in what we feel has been sacred and meaningful ways. We will be closing everything down and packing everything up from Saturday the 20th to November 30th. We do need help to pack things, take down shelves, and other tasks. We are also getting rid of the furniture, lots of books, and other things. We will be selling bulk tea at half price.

On November 30th, after all is packed and moved, we will be having an intimate tea ceremony to honor what has been and what will be. Please come, reflect, and express gratitude for the space and all the journey has offered so far. If there is something you would like to offer; a song, a poem, a dance, a memory, whatevery; Please, do. The time will be candle lit around 8pm.
