My first time seeing a baby Gopher Tortoise (Gopherus polyphemus) in person the other day! We saw this little guy sitting in the road and we decided to sit with him for a few minutes to make sure he didn’t get hit by traffic!

The Ploughshear Tortoise (Astrochelys yniphora) is one of the most endangered tortoises in the world! On a visit to the Turtle Conservancy I got to see the incredible breeding program they have for this species! It’s amazing to see this beautiful Madagascan species has hope in captive breeding programs like at the TC!

Really wild natural phenomenon seeing so many Convergent Ladybugs (Hippodamia convergens) together! These were really living up to the “convergent” part of their name!

After a few long days I’ve trying to get any snakes we could in Cali, we finally got our hands on a male Coast Garter Snake (Thamnophis elegans terrestris)! This dudes tail was super long and intact so I took the chance to explain how you can usually tell male from female with snake sexual dimorphism!

The Black Spotted Pond Turtle (Geoclemmys hamiltonii) is an incredible species of turtle! They’re such an a beautiful animal, that has faced a lot of pressures in its natural range! Climate change, poaching, and habitat loss have made this species populations dwindle in the last decade.

The “Roadless Rule Act” is under attack and with these protections under attack, wildlife and ecosystems around the United States are in jeopardy. In my home state of Georgia, habitat and imperiled species, are at risk of being destroyed. Please click the link in my story to learn more about this threat to our wild spaces!
