Got chewed on by a big male Veiled Chameleon (Chamalaeo calyptratus)! These guys have a pretty strong bite, as they posses strong teeth for crushing insect exoskeletons! Pretty cool to see how they’ll display very different colors depending on their mood!

Spent Earth Day 2026 with giving an educational presentation at a preschool! The students and staff seemed to really enjoy themselves and learned a lot! Whenever I get the chance to do outreach like this, I’m reminded of why I started this page in the first place. The youth going forward are the ones who’ll have the responsibility of stewardship for wildlife and native spaces. If we can reach them with the importance of conserving their planet and its wildlife, they’ll want to save it! We showed them native Georgia wildlife they could even find in their backyards to really bring home the message of conserving the wildlife around them. Huge thanks again to Greg for making this epic and teaching the students. And huge thanks to for organizing this event!

While shooting my Snake Bite Epidemic documentary in South Africa, I had this hilarious encounter with a South African Rock Python (Python sebae natalensis)! This one was a little feisty and decided to wrap around my ankle, instead of letting me let it go 😂

While out at night in South Africa I stumbled across this Predatory Katydid (Clonia whalbergi). I’d never heard of this species or even seen it in books, so it was a pretty amazing find!
