This week's theme at the STEAM Summer Camp is East Point Architects & Engineers. This week, students designed and constructed a new recreation center for the City. Under the leadership of Ashley Murray, Founder & Executive Director of , the students developed their designs using surveys from the community and computer-aided design technology. They presented their designs today and were judged based on creativity, design, presentation and communication.

Deputy City Manager Geneasa Elias thanked the students for their ideas and explained how they will be incorporated during the design phase for a new recreation center. East Point Parks & Recreation were awarded a $28,000 BOOST Grant from the Georgia Recreation and Park Association to facilitate programming and field trips revolved around STEAM.
