This week we were honored to receive a tour of Atlanta’s City Hall from the and team. We all had a great time on this field trip! Students were especially encouraged by a former student of our ESL program who came to speak to us about overcoming the challenges that face new migrants and how to build confidence when learning English.

We are so grateful for the partnership we have with the City of Atlanta! The and team bring us guest speakers each month to inform our students on vital issues. Here are some photos from our March, April and May sessions. Students heard presentations from about the non-emergency services in Atlanta as well as career resources available through . Today is our last MyCity ATL session, which will be held at City Hall!

Last week our students enjoyed a presentation about traffic laws and driving safety from Officer Lugo. Thank you to Valerie Mills and the team for partnering with us to help our students better integrate into the city of Atlanta!

Teacher spotlight! 🔍📚
You can call him “teacher” or just simply “Joe.”
Joe earned his M.A. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Columbia International University in 2014. He’s taught English in Iraq, Mexico, and has been teaching in Atlanta for one year. When he’s not teaching, he likes to play and write music. Joe speaks Spanish and some Portuguese.
