The process I use is a no cost / no obligation coaching approach, which takes my clients on a journey of self-discovery. The net result is that my clients arrive at a "point-of-clarity" and then confidently embark on their next career venture with excitement - and a high probability of success! About 95% of TES clients go into a business they would not have looked at, or had thought of but dismiss

ed prematurely. They were looking in the wrong places! Typically, my clients are F.R.E.D. -

-Frustrated: Someone frustrated with their current job/career path (stuck in a rut, tired of politics, wants more control)

-Recently Retired from Corporate / Military careers: Someone who has retired (voluntarily or otherwise) and is looking to do something that generates some income with fewer hours invested than a typical job (i.e. lots of flexibility)

-Entrepreneurial - Investors seeking additional income; someone looking to develop an alternative source of income (passive investment) to eventually replicate their current income while maintaining their current source of primary income (i.e. keep their job)

-Downsized: Someone who has been downsized and is looking to stay geographically where they are and/or not take a step back financially

Are you FRED? You owe it to yourself to explore alternatives. Call today for my complimentary service to help you do just that! To your success! Julian Reid

Record revenue. Record growth. Record layoffs equal the Forever Layoff!

Cloudflare cut more than 20% of its workforce in May. Not because it was struggling. Days earlier, Cisco posted a record $15.8B quarter and cut nearly 4,000 jobs.

For decades the unspoken deal was simple: perform, and you stay. Not Anymore! Hiring plans fell 69% in April alone. It’s called "continuous tuning" — smaller, recurring cuts instead of one painful correction.

Here is what that feels like from a cubicle: you are never post-layoff. You are always pre-layoff.

If your company can continuously reevaluate its options, so can you. That is the premise behind Career Ownership Coaching™. Start with what you want your life to look like and then find the vehicle that gets you there.

None of us know exactly what the next few years hold. We do know you do not have to face that uncertainty alone.

One of our clients recently shared what it was like to work with a Career Ownership Coach®:

“Working with my Career Ownership Coach® was an incredible experience. From our very first conversation, it was clear that he wasn't there to push an agenda or pressure me into any quick decision. Instead, he took the time to genuinely listen and guide me through a process of deep self-discovery."

That is what this work actually looks like. Not a pitch. Not pressure. Building a firewall around your family's future. A source of income, stability, and control that doesn't depend on someone else's decisions about your role, your team, or your timing.

And you don't have to build it from scratch, and you don't have to build it alone. That is exactly what a Career Ownership Coach® is for.

If uncertainty has you rethinking what's next, a conversation is a good place to start. https://jreid.youcanbook.me/?utm_source=Soci_Parameter

Have you considered the F.I.R.E. movement?

The Financial Independence, Retire Early (F.I.R.E.) movement gets one thing right: financial preparedness. If pursuing F.I.R.E. encourages disciplined saving and investing, that’s a positive—especially in a job market where layoffs seem never-ending. Through April, U.S. employers had announced more than 300,000 job cuts, according to the BLS.

But one thing gets underestimated: F.I.R.E is a strategy for escaping something. It rarely answers what you are running toward.

That is the gap I work in. The starting question is not "how fast can I leave?" but "what do I actually want my life to look like?" And then building backward to meet your income and lifestyle goals

Financial independence is a number. Career Ownership is a destination. So what are you optimizing for — the exit, or what is waiting on the other side of it?

Have you noticed, somewhere along the way, the job postings became a wish list?

9 required qualifications, 6 Preferred and 22 responsibilities. All under a single title, and a single salary.

When a listing merges two roles into one, the consolidation rarely comes with two paychecks. The person in that seat inherits a workload built for a team and very little say over how any of it is structured.

That may be why, in the TES Generational Career Confidence Survey, 80% of employees said business ownership gives a person more control over their career than a traditional job. Among Millennials, it was 86%.

Most people respond to an overwhelming job description by asking, "Am I qualified enough?"

There’s a better first question: "Is this actually the model I want?"

That’s where I can help. Not with listings or resume, but with what you want your Income and Lifestyle to look like, and whether your current path can realistically get you there.

For a lot of moms, finding a job that actually fits family life has gotten harder — not easier.

Coming out of the pandemic, flexible and remote roles opened real doors for mothers of young children. Now those doors are closing. In early 2026, just 4% of new job postings were fully remote — while 77% were fully on-site. (Robert Half Recruiting) As return-to-office mandates spread, the pool of jobs that can work around childcare and school schedules keeps shrinking.

The pattern shows up in the numbers: labor force participation among college-educated moms of young children has been sliding, even as it climbs for people without kids at home. When the workday and calendar don't line up with the school day, something has to give — and too often, it's the mom's career.

In a shrinking job market for moms of young children, Career Ownership Coaching™ helps people explore whether building work around their life — instead of squeezing life around a job — could be a real path forward.

What is happening to Job Titles?

Business schools from Harvard to Wharton are already describing the end of the fixed job title, as work reorganizes around skills, not labels.

Here's the harder truth: adaptability is now simply expected. So the real question isn't which role you take next — it's whose structure you're working within.

If the ground is shifting anyway, wouldn't you rather be the one shaping it? Read more: https://jreid.esourcecoach.com/blog/?utm_source=SOCI_Parameter

Is building a multigenerational legacy important to you?

A layoff notice. A restructuring. An economy that shifts overnight. For a lot of parents, the question isn't only “How do I protect my career?” — it's “How do I protect my family's future?”

Building a business isn't only about income today. It's about creating something with staying power. A foundation that can generate income now, build wealth and equity over time, and one day give the next generation a stronger place to start. Something that funds your life today and that outlasts any single job.

In the TES Generational Career Confidence Survey, 83% of parents said supporting a child's business is a good long-term investment, and 75% said they value an entrepreneurial mindset for their kids.

In an uncertain labor market, the most valuable thing you build may be something you can pass down. Take our Workplace Wellness Assessment and determine if you need to build a better future. https://jreid.esourcecoach.com/?utm_source=SOCI_Assessment
