32 years.
That is how long I have been a daily hands-on mother.
Five children. Five graduations. Five times I watched someone I grew inside my body step into their own story.
And this one...Gracie, is my last.
She is my fifth. My youngest. And when she walked across that stage I felt something I have never felt at the other four graduations.
I felt the era ending.
Not Gracie’s era. Mine.
32 years of school lunches and homework and doctor appointments and heartbreaks and sleepovers and late nights and early mornings and being needed in the most consuming, beautiful, exhausting way a human being can be needed.
That chapter is closing.
And I am proud beyond words. And I am grieving something I cannot fully name yet. And I know, because I have lived through enough transitions to trust this…. that what comes next is not less than what was.
It is different. It is mine. And it is going to be by design.

HAPPY HUMP DAY!! Let me help you not only make it to the weekend, but create some balance in your life.
Finding a healthy work-life balance is vital for our overall quality of life. It allows us to recharge, maintain mental and physical health, and find fulfillment beyond our professional pursuits.
By prioritizing this balance, we unlock the key to sustained productivity, happiness, and success in all aspects of our lives.
Here are some actionable tips to help achieve this balance:
1. Set Clear Boundaries:
Establish distinct work hours and personal time. This can help prevent work from encroaching on your personal life and vice versa. COMMUNICATING these boundaries to your colleagues and family is key. People can't change if you don't tell them what you need.
2. Prioritize Tasks:
Focus on what truly matters. Use tools like to-do lists and prioritization metrics to identify urgent and important tasks. Delegate tasks you either don't want to do or aren't you zone of genius. There's no shame in saying, "this is not my lane" and finding someone whose it is.
3. Take Breaks:
Regular breaks during work hours can improve focus and productivity. Techniques like the Pomodoro Technique, which involves working for 25 minutes and taking a 5-minute break, can be effective. YOU DESERVE IT!!😊
4. Unplug:
In our hyper-connected world, it's important to disconnect from work emails and social media during personal time. This helps you to be present and engaged in your personal life. When I leave work, I LEAVE WORK.
5. Mindfulness and Relaxation:
Practices like meditation, yoga, or even simple deep-breathing exercises can help reduce stress and improve mental clarity. Go outside, get some fresh air and let the sun hit your face. Take a walk or sit outside and listen to the sounds of nature. I promise you, it will make a difference in your mood within minutes.
By implementing some of these strategies, you can create a more harmonious balance between your professional responsibilities and personal fulfillment, leading to a happier, healthier, and more productive life. Live intentionally to create the life you want and most importantly deserve.🥰

As School Social Work Week comes to a close, I am feeling blessed to be able to do something I love with such amazing colleagues!! My intern and I were shown so much love and appreciation.🥰
I’m always surprised that so many people (even those working within education) don’t have a clue as to what School Social Workers even do, so let me share.
School social work is a specialized area of practice within the broad field of the social work profession. School social workers bring unique knowledge and skills to the school system and the student services team.
School Social Workers are trained mental health professionals who can assist with mental health concerns, behavioral concerns, crisis interventions, positive behavioral support, truancy, special education, academic, and classroom support, consultation with teachers, parents, and administrators, provide resources as well as provide individual and group counseling/therapy. We are the link between school, home and community.
So basically….WE DO IT ALL!!💚
