Parents with children in special education... it's hard to believe schools are having an open house in less than a month. If you haven't already done so, help get your child ready for the new school year. Prepare a summary about your child to share with the entire IEP team and anyone else that they may come in contact with them. Highlighting the activities they enjoy, what are some of their challenges, what are some key motivators and key triggers, and how you plan to be an active partner with the teachers and admins. (It's hard...I know all too well of how hard it is to be active in your child's education.) But, you can do it. 😊

Navigating the IEP process is overwhelming by itself (I know... I've been doing it for more than 15 years.) Give the school the opportunity to meet your amazing child before the 1st day of class. 😁
