1st Book Club 165

And that’s a wrap for the school year! Thank you so much for supporting our ministry this year. With your prayers, donations, and time, we gifted almost 9,000 books to elementary school students in the Central Gwinnett cluster this year. Most importantly, we showed them that we are invested in their lives and care about them. Thank you for making a difference!

1st Book Club 165 visited Winn Holt Elementary today to share books with children! We’ll be at Simonton Elementary on May 10th. It’s a lot of fun — there’s still time to sign up to join us!

First Book Club 165 would like to extend a huge thanks to those who supported our ministry in 2022! We are grateful for Lawrenceville First Baptist Church’s staff and church members for their many contributions of prayer for the ministry, time and energy in preparing the groundwork for this ministry, and gifts of money and books for children. Thank you also to the Walton EMC grant foundation and other community members and organizations who joined alongside us in our mission. With your generous donations, we provided 6,000 new books and 26,000 gently-used books for the Lawrenceville community this year. Thank you for helping us impact the little hearts and minds in our neighborhood!

Exciting news for 1st Book Club 165! We recently received a generous grant from Walton EMC’s Operation Round Up program. This will allow us to provide 4,300 brand new books to local elementary school children in December. 🎉

Our fall book drive will continue through the end of October! We are in need of new or gently-used children’s books. If you need shopping suggestions, we encourage you to buy from our Amazon wishlist linked here. This week is also a buy one, get one half off book sale at Target with lots of great author and book selections. Consider buying and shipping directly to Lawrenceville First Baptist Church.

Today was a GREAT day at Lawrenceville Elementary School! More than 7,000 books were given to the children in the community. We loved seeing the excitement on the children’s faces! Thank you to all Lawrenceville First Baptist Church staff and volunteers, the Kappa Delta group, community members, the Central Gwinnett esports team, and the Central Gwinnett Beta Club for helping with the event! And if it looks like fun…we have two more opportunities next week for you to help!

We are less than two weeks away from our first book giveaway day, and we need more volunteers to help! Volunteers will greet students and assist them as they select 11 FREE books! Friendly smiles needed! :) Volunteers can sign up for 2.5 hour shifts on May 6, May 13, or May 16.
