This morning I sent my little philosophers to public school for the first time! I think they’re happier about not having to wear Uniforms anymore! Lol

Keeping an untroubled spirit tends to be the hardest thing to do when the mind and hear are out of sync. The battles can become intense and inflamed with every new situation. Finding solace in the breath brings all back into alignment. Taking a breath provides a way to pause the universe and see everything as it is. Time is a great tool to use wisely.

In my Erykah Badu voice:" Wait did you feel that?" I mean this one cuts deep...Real DEEP! Who feels like they keep wanting more and more to no end? This is the programming. Now we can see why we are poor mentally, physically, and financially. A simple life leaves us wanting only what we need with minimal desire. This lowers our expectations and eventually leaves us with a greater peace of mind. Ultimately this leaves us happier and MORE virtuous. This is the purpose of Stoicism!

We have all heard the term, everything happens for a reason. In the Black Community, we say God will never give. you more than you can handle. Well its safe to say that Epictetus was where they got that saying from! In the hood we often look at everything happening to us as the end of the world. But some mystical magical way we pull out of the nose dive and keep it in the air. There is a reason for that. That reason is because everything thing that happens to us is happening for us. Hard times only make us stronger and wiser when we free ourselves of the victim mentality. Next time you are going through it, stop, breathe, don't be the victim, and seek the lesson so you can be the Victor!!!
