Quebec: Phase of flights starting July 23
Air Transat will gradually resume its flights as of July 23
Montreal air carrier made the announcement by press release Thursday morning.
Flights were suspended since April 1st due to the planet's COVID-19 pandemic.
Twenty-three international destinations will be offered from Montreal or Toronto. A domestic flight program connecting the main two largest in the country, as well as Vancouver and Calgary will also be available. Flights from Quebec will not resume.
In Europe, France, the UK, Greece, Italy and Portugal will be served. To the south, the United States, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Haiti will be accessible by Air Transat.
The carrier has said that health measures have been put in place to avoid the spread of the-19 to its customers.
"In accordance with the recommendations and requirements of the competent authorities, these measures will accompany the traveler throughout his travel experience: from the travel agency, to the airport, on board, and to the destination", said Annick Guérard , Chief of Operations of Transat.
If the application is there and some restrictions are lifted, Air Transat could improve its number of flights for September and October.
Customers who book tickets will have more flexibility to cancel or change their tickets. They will be able to change it and change their departure date, destination or package at no cost until 24 h before the date of departure. If they prefer to suspend their trip, they will be able to get a valid travel credit for a period of 12 months.
