Last year I suffered from depression and anxiety and I found the root to be that I was out of alignment with who I said I wanted to be. I was moving in a new direction but operating in old ways. It was internal conflict. Literally ME VS ME.

Maybe so many of us are trying to escape because we can’t handle the mirror.

Wow 10 years ago today I graduated from cosmetology school and 7 years ago today I opened the doors of my 1st salon suite. Damn man.

10 years seem like such a long time ago, but I’m realizing it’s just a speck on the journey. I was 24 years old. I didn’t realize how much of a child I still was until looking at this.
One hell of a decade!!
So much life has happened between then and now but one thing for sure I’m glad I took the chance and started! I dropped out of Kennesaw state the year prior and chose me. This was the second time I had done that and still top 2 best decisions of my life.
I had this gut feeling way back then that being in corporate America wasn’t for a eccentric kid like me. I banked on myself. Still is. Always will.

Many of us don’t realize that the stagnation we are feeling is tied to not forgiving ourselves for last decisions and failures. I know for me there was a season I didn’t trust my decision making. I froze and stop making decisions which made everything worse.

Once I found the courage to forgive myself and accept my humanness a weight was lifted. I realized that mistakes were made because I didn’t know or I knew I didn’t apply.

Many of us are 1st time entrepreneurs. There is no way to avoid mistakes and failure. It’s a part of the game but I’m here to tell you this.
Failure brings about change. I encourage you to fail faster and get over it even faster.

Honestly for me… it’s not big deal or something I even anticipate. I’m always thankful when ever I do receive a tip. I am grown up and I realized how much things cost and how grown up money works so I understand everyone don’t have it to give.
