To Parents and Students:
The staff at Bell Tutoring is closely monitoring the situation with Hurricane Ian. Hurricanes are challenging to predict but, as of right now, it is heading toward the Gulf Coast of Florida, and the area is expected to see its effects by Wednesday. We do have students nationwide, but a large number of them do live on the East Coast.

Also, our staff of tutors primarily resides within Georgia and its surrounding states. Please bear with us as Hurricane Ian approaches since we are unsure of the storm’s full effect, and we could experience connectivity issues throughout the week.
For those parents and students who live in the Florida area and plan to evacuate, please reach out to Molly Bell as your situation changes. The safety of our students is our first priority. We will, of course, offer the utmost flexibility with rescheduling lessons for those in affected areas. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns. Please know that our students and their families are in our prayers.

All the Best,

Molly Bell & The Bell Tutoring Staff

I read this on my son's college parents page and thought it was so important for my newly graduated student's parents to read!

Loved “For all my friends with upcoming college freshman......A great perspective, shared from another page. They may not have the same college experiences as we had but it will be their college experience. Best of luck UTK freshman class! 🧡🤍😊

“I know we are all concerned and disappointed about this year. But I have to say my incoming freshman is teaching me a lesson. After reading the college plan for the fall, I’ve been pretty negative about this coming semester... the online classes, the grab and go meals, the cancelled activities, the lack of anything that’s supposed to be good and fun about her freshman year.
Last night we were (finally!) planning her high school graduation party with her friends. On the car ride home, she asked about some of the college ‘rules’ and I went through the list. She said ‘yeah but I don’t have anything to compare it to. I won’t know if I should be miserable because I won’t know how it’s supposed to be. So I’ll just make the most of it.“ And there it is. This is her college experience, not mine. She can’t know what it’s supposed to be...she’s never been.
Remember when your child was little and you bought them a fancy, expensive toy, but then they ended up playing with the box? They would spend hours imagining it was a boat, a spaceship, a flying dinosaur, a secret island. The fancy toy was forgotten and you wondered why you ever bought the thing.
As an incoming freshman in 2020, she’s not going to get the fancy toy...the classic college experience. Instead she will get the box. In my mind, this box will be boring and robotic and lifeless. But to her, it’s just as special as the fancy toy. Because hidden within it are new friends, late night gab sessions, challenging courses and exciting adventures. She envisions the possibilities, not the limitations. She doesn’t care about the rules, she just can’t wait to create her own college experience. Not some version of mine. So I get it. Thanks Sweetie. Mom and Dad are going to miss you.
Enjoy your (expensive) box."”
