Allowing students to find their own voice in their work is an essential part to creating academic ability. Here at Learn n’ Earn we both cultivate the basic understanding but also give students the autonomy to explain and justify their reasoning. Critical thinking and reasoning is often one of the hardest concepts to foster in math. When done right your child will amaze you and themselves with the pieces they are able to tie together. In this session Josiah and I worked on reasoning with fractions, mixed numbers and the four operations (adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing). We created tangible resources to visually see what makes one fraction larger than the other and then worked with foundational practice involving rational numbers. He is making great progress so far!

Meet the CEO of Learn N' Earn:

Anytwonette Jordan

Anytwonette Jordan is a high-performing chemistry professional turned lead educator. After graduating from Georgia Southern University with a bachelors of science in chemistry, she quickly found her footing in both production and pharmaceutical laboratories. She has experience working as a chemist at Deerland Enzymes, Alcon Laboratories and The Coca Cola Company.

The transition from chemistry to education was a seamless one as her passion for building academic fluency and being a mentor to her community is dear to her heart. She has served as a primary and middle grades educator in the following areas: mathematics, english, and science. Along with her experience in education she also has a masters of arts in teaching with a concentration in mathematics.
