[insert standing ovation here] 💙 Our very own Dr. Stacey French-Lee was awarded Georgia State University’s 2025-2026 Outstanding Faculty Achievement Award!!
This award recognizes a non-tenure track faculty member for outstanding achievements in their assigned areas of specialty (scholarship/creative works, teaching, and/or service). The field of education is stronger because of Dr. French-Lee’s contributions — leadership of GSU’s two child development centers, scholarship on the role intersectionality plays in education - especially of African American boys, teaching and mentoring of graduate students, and service on the board of directors of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, to name a few examples.
We couldn’t be prouder! Thank you, Dr. French-Lee, for pouring into our MACIE grad students! 💙💙💙

You not only pushed people to think about the field of education through a creative and innovative lens, you pushed people to see what teaching, learning, and being “could” look like. Keep shining!

“The MACIE program inspires me to challenge myself to take creative risks and dive into critical thinking in a new way. It pushes me to see challenges as opportunities for creativity, allowing me to explore new ideas that feel meaningful while feeling supported to grow as a thinker and a leader.” – Kennedy Sneed ._
