Having a Vision for your life is a necessity for moving forward. There is a verse in the Bible that says, "without a Vision my people perish." I believe that is true. Without it, we become complacent. It is important to note that a Vision is bigger than a goal because it requires a greater faith and the ability to stay the course when obstacles arise. Whereas a goal, though probably very worthy, is reached through a series of required and attainable steps. A Vision, on the other hand, requires we take action even when we don't know all the steps.
A mentor once shared 5 questions you can ask to determine if your goal is worthy of you. I'd like to share those here:
1. Does it give me life?
2. Does it align with my core values?
3. Does it make me grow?
4. Does it require help from a Higher Power?
5. Is there some good in it for others?
I hope you find these helpful. I'll talk more about Visioning in my next post.
