Tried archery for the first time and loved it!

There was a time when I couldn't come up with a single potential hobby idea.

Then I said "yes" when someone invited me to try kickboxing 🥊 and another "yes" when my sister asked me to hike up a mountain 🥾⛰️ with her.

🤩BAM! Two hobbies right there.

The same happened in my career.

I never knew what I wanted to do, but I said "yes" to projects, assignments, and challenges that helped me discover my passion towards work I'd never even considered.

I feel like there's a lesson in there somewhere...

For now I'll just focus on how cool 😎 I look about to take down a paper 🎯 target 🏹
..while a T-Rex 🦖 runs the other way 😂💪

That's why I am SO excited to share this with you. 😁💖

I could have saved thousands 💸 of dollars.
I could have gotten my degree months or even years earlier if only I'd known.

Why didn't my High School guidance counselors tell me about this?!

🙇🏾‍♀️No offense, Ms. Arroyo. You made sure I went to college and I'm grateful 🥲 (Please don't hate me!).

But seriously - this is GOLD to anyone who wants to get a bachelor's degree in less time and with less 💵.

I often say you don't need a Bachelor's degree to get the job you want, but I'm curious... if you want to get your Bachelor's, what's keeping you from it?

How to get a job without the required experience:

"Experience" is just a way to give the hiring manager confidence that you can do the job well.

It's ☝️one way, but not the only way.

Want the job?
Show the you can do it. Bring them proof! 🧾

🧞‍♀️ Journalist
🪄Write some articles about a topic your desired employer writes about.

🧞‍♀️ Training Specialist
🪄 Make a 3-5 minute video showcasing your training and video production skills.

🧞‍♀️ Financial Analyst/Strategist
🪄 Prepare an analysis on a (or the) company along with a proposed strategy to grow their bottom line or investment portfolio.

I have never been paid what I think I'm worth. 😞

Someone said this to me just yesterday.
I could see the frustration in their eyes.

This came from a top performer, innovator, dedicated and responsible person who has produced measurable and meaningful gains for past employers.

Why haven't they been paid what they are worth?

❌ They've limited themselves to working at jobs that cannot afford them.
❌ They feel that a better job is just impossible to get.
❌ They are convinced they just don't have what it takes.

That's what I love to work on!

No, I'm not going to sing you Arthur's "believe in yourself" theme song. 🐰

I'm going to:
💪 Prepare the heck out of you. 🏋️‍♀️

My life and the pursuit of a bed.🛌😬

On April 17, 2005 I arrived in the US with only about a week's worth of clothes.

I was born again that day, so I celebrate 4/17 every year. 👸🏾🎂Today is my Sweet 16, y'all!!

Let me share what I mean by "the pursuit of a bed":

🐣 I'm from a rural village in the Dominican Republic.
The kind where transportation has 4 legs 🐴, there's no electricity, and if you want tap water in your house, you get it yourself.

🛏️ 👩‍👧‍👧I shared a small bed with 2 people including one adult then, and continued to share small beds, sleep on floor mattresses and couches until finally: My own twin bed at college! 💃🏾

After college I lived in a small studio apartment with 3 other family members, so back to the couch I went. 👎

That's when my career journey began. I knew I had to improve my lifestyle. I guess all my drive comes from my love of a good night's sleep. 😴

Rented my own room two months later (thanks Craigslist) though I had a futon, not yet a real bed. But it was MY futon. Hello American Dream! 🇺🇲

Got my first real bed after 🔟 years in the US but I got it, baby. Success! 🙌🏾🙌🏾

So: Happy US birthday to me, and never stop chasing your bed - I mean dreams. 💭

You know like the makeup scene? You got a ton of companies selling the same thing and new ones coming up all the time. KJ did it anyway.

🥺"How can I sell this? Won't they know I'm a fraud?"

KJ doesn't even have lips naturally, yet is making a fortune selling lipstick.

Not a diss on KJ, just something to help you see that the limiting thoughts in your head are just that.

Kylie's example not enough?

How about next time you feel unqualified... think about 🟠 45. 😉
