Kindergarten is the big leagues!

So often we hear about the academic skills our students need to know as they prepare for their first year at “big kid school.”

But, what about those non-academic skills. The soft skills that will also help them have a successful first year of school?

Just like reading and math skills, soft skills or SEL skills need to be taught with intentionality.

When you first see the school supply list it may seem overwhelming 😳. Some may even say excessive 😩.

As a former class room teacher 👩🏽‍🏫 I can promise you that every item on that list is purposeful and will be used for the benefit of your child’s education 📚.

Every May teachers sit with their team to determine what they will need for a successful upcoming school year. They imagine the projects students will complete, experiments they will experience 🔬, stories they will write ✍️ , books they will read 📖, problems they will solve and so much more.

Every item is strategically chosen so that all students will have the greatest learning experiences there are to have!
