Captain Crani is a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Rehabilitation Coach, guiding survivors and caretak

Did you know that March is brain injury awareness month?
Spread the word! The CDC reports over two million new head injuries in the US each year. That’s like 80,000,000 people over the last forty years, yikes! And sadly that number is on the rise. We all should be doing a better job of preventing TBI’s and concussion’s. Our minds are our most powerful gifts, let’s not take them for granted. ❤️

Being of good service for my TBI peers is my purpose. Recently I received a written testimony back from one of my clients answering a few questions. Here is a little bit of what Paul & Donna Thompson had to say.

What results have you seen in yourself?

Paul - I am able to better think outside of the box to see more possibilities and am exercising more.

From your perspective, are you happy with our experience working together?

Paul - I was happy with you helping me develop a routine doing puzzles and especially helping me get working out again.

Donna - I am very thankful for Neil. Paul had been talking about going to the gym for several years. Neil came along at the perfect time and helped Paul not only start working out again, but he challenged himself with something new. I really enjoyed Neil's encouragement as well. He is a very kind, patient and encouraging soul. I think Neil is perfect for helping people with TBI's. I think Neil is a fabulous coach and could help anyone with their goals. He is very consistent and doesn't let you slide with being lazy or giving up. He always had more encouragement and more answers. Thanks a million Neil!

Here is a success story I want to share with you!

This is a portion of a testimonial that I did with Angela, she is Jason‘s wife and caretaker. This is her perspective and some of her observations of Jason’s progression from our time working together. A little bit of backstory, Jason is about 17 years post TBI and when we started working together he was definitely concerned about his mental health and concerned about his future and how functional he was going to be able to be in the years to come. His attention span and ability to focus definitely had room for improvement and he was lacking in his own self confidence in how he interacted with others.

What results have you seen in Jason?

He’s much sharper now, he likes to answer questions for himself. He likes to be more involved now, to be included in conversations. He no longer feels like a doormat! And if someone is treating him poorly he can recognize it and no longer excepts that behavior. He stands up for himself. He appreciates his self-worth much more and he is much more confident interacting
with others.

Thanks so much Angela for sharing your perspective! There is much more to this story of course and if you would like to read more I have our whole conversation written in the testimonials section of my website for you at www.captaincrani.com
