We are honored to announce MS NOW’s Symone Sanders Townsend as the keynote speaker for Spelman College’s 139th Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 17, 2026.

A dynamic force at the intersection of politics, media, and advocacy, Symone has built a career defined by breaking barriers, shaping national conversations, and amplifying voices that matter. 

From becoming the youngest presidential press secretary in history to serving in the White House to anchoring on MS NOW’s primetime and leading on major media platforms, her impact is undeniable. In recognition of her trailblazing career and contributions to public discourse, she will also receive an honorary doctorate from Spelman College.

We look forward to the insight, inspiration, and truth she will share with the Class of 2026 as they step into their next chapter.

This program is designed to build an AUC-based angel investing syndicate while equipping participants with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to begin actively investing in startups.

This opportunity is ideal for Spelman alumnae who meet the definition of accredited investors and want to deepen their engagement in the startup ecosystem while directly supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs, such as Spelpreneur students.
