It is paramount that facilities have policies and procedures in place for the reprocessing of loaner instrumentation. Whether the loaner trays were processed by a sister hospital, they must start in decontam and follow the complete process to ensure that patient safety is met.

Wrapping techniques

Our last week in class was fun and adventurous. Here is some of the footage from the in-person training. We researched surgical instruments using resources to match devices to their name.

Although it is not recommended to stack, there are proper and improper ways for rigid containers and wrapped items to be stored in sterile storage.

We are in the final week of the program, and it is always something new discovered.
