This is my super gorgeous friend enjoying an unusual taste of her childhood and home if Syria- Mastika ice cream- on our London jaunt, of all places! 😱 She was shocked to see it there and says she hasn't had since she left home many years ago. It took her right back. A reminder of how powerful and connected food can be to our lives and our loves. 💝🍦

Two weekends ago, I went home with my cooking. I was just feeling for a good amchar, so I made Apple Amchar (a great substitute for mangoes), and then I made homemade steamed shrimp wontons see a friend's house. Good Trini eats, yes! 🍽️😋

Spring in Malta means "Frawli" or Strawberries. Everybody told me about them and everyone is RIGHT! These strawberries are AMAZING and I'm totally gorging myself. My goodness they're delicious! So yummy. 😋🍓

The restaurant scene in Malta is amazingly diverse, with a wealth of different cuisines- Thai, Indian, Italian, Turkish - and it's so fun exploring and experimenting! Thursday night I tried out one that I've been dying to taste- Pho01 in Gzira. Right on my doorstep, it's was super delish and the glorious scents y'all. My God, so yum. 🤤😋🍜🍜

Brunch life is an elevated art form in Malta, and last Sunday I got to enjoy it to the fullest, at the deliciously bouge . Super yummy brekkie- Eggs Benedict Royale, fabulous cocktails- Spicy Lime G&Ts, good company, and great views! What more could a girl ask for? 🍽️🍸🌞🌞

This week, I enjoyed the quintessential Maltese snack, from one of the best on the island. A Pastizzi is flaky, butterfly pastry, traditionally filled with ricotta or mashed, spiced peas, and it dates back to hundreds of years ago. The different shapes indicate the different fillings- the diamond shape is Ricotta and the triangle shape is the Spiced Peas. At €1 for the two, it's a steal of a deal snack!! 😋
