It’s true what they say about filling your cup so that you have something to give to others. And that’s just what we did with our last minute “goodbye summer” trip to Universal Studios!

And I have to say, I haven’t had that much fun-focused family time in a long while! Afterwards I felt exhausted but in the best way and SO ready to start another amazing year of music mentoring to my singers and players!

Yesterday was the first day in almost two years where I felt *in my genius zone*.

You know, that sweet spot where you feel exactly at home, saying and doing what feels true and honest for who you are, and you’re doing exactly what you’re meant to be doing.

After feeling crummy most of the week I picked up a last minute opportunity to do an open house event at our kids’ school and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a wee bit nervous.

After selling my previous music school, taking some time off, moving to a new state during Covid, and struggling to fit in, I hadn’t worn that comfy sweater called “music education professional” in a long while. I’ve felt very much OUT of the genius zone, searching for a place where I can be me.

I began setting up my table and created a setup complete with gummy snacks and a sign up sheet… it took a little bit to find my flow, but it didn’t take long until I was feeling like my old self again. Like I was ready to lean into the music leader part of me again and it felt…. really good!

I had some incredible conversations with young families looking to make music a part of their homes and helped young musicians feel comfortable saying “yes” to creativity. I made connections, felt like myself, and enjoyed settling into that comfy sweater feeling of “yeah, this feels right”.

Now with all that in mind, you can see that it’s not as easy as simply dividing tuition by the number of lessons.

And that’s why I don’t do a pay-per-lesson model. It just doesn’t honor the true commitment I have to you as your teacher.

It’s also why I use words like 🄼🄴🄼🄱🄴🅁🅂🄷🄸🄿 and 🅃🅄🄸🅃🄸🄾🄽 😉.

With it’s an all-inclusive, boutique lessons experience that reaches the whole student with care and intentionality.
