Last Friday, our cohort packed over 750 care bags for Atlanta’s unhoused community to be donated to Atlanta Mission. With more than 100 volunteers in attendance, we raised over $5,000 to support the initiative, making our Day of Service an incredible success and creating a meaningful impact in our community.

Happy Fourth of July from the Black Male Leadership Society.

The story of Independence Day is also a story of perseverance, protest, and the ongoing pursuit of liberty for all. As we celebrate today, we also reflect on the voices that challenged America to live up to its founding ideals and honor those who fought to expand the meaning of freedom.

May we continue building a nation where liberty, justice, and equality are more than promises, where they are realities.

Happy Juneteenth.

At the Black Male Leadership Society, we honor June 19, 1865—not only as a celebration of freedom, but as a reminder of the responsibility that comes with it. Juneteenth recognizes the resilience, strength, and perseverance of those who fought for liberation and laid the foundation for generations to come.

As young leaders, we carry that legacy forward through service, education, mentorship, and community. Today we celebrate the progress made, reflect on the work that remains, and recommit ourselves to building a future rooted in empowerment, opportunity, and collective advancement.

Freedom is a continuous action. Let’s honor it by leading, serving, and uplifting others.

Through internships, research, study abroad experiences, and leadership opportunities, our Executive Board continues to represent the mission of BMLS through growth, excellence, and service. At BMLS, we believe leadership is not confined to a title or a campus, but is reflected in how we challenge ourselves, embrace new experiences, and create impact wherever we go.

This Memorial Day, we honor the courage, resilience, and patriotism of all who have served, especially the untold stories of Black veterans.
Their dedication to a country that often didn’t honor them back is a legacy we strive to uphold. We salute their service and remember their sacrifice. From the Tuskegee Airmen to the Lovely ladies of the 6888th Battalion, we honor our veterans and our heritage.
