There are arrangements in our lives that technically still work.

No one is fighting.
Nothing has officially ended.
The relationship still exists.
The family still gathers.
The collaboration continues.
The agreement still stands.

And yet something has become quietly expensive.

That is where the October 10 Libra New Moon finds us.

Libra is often reduced to harmony and partnership, but this lunation feels less interested in preserving appearances than in asking whether the relationships and agreements we live inside can still hold the truth.

Libra’s ruler, Venus, is retrograde in Scorpio.

So the beginning comes through review.

What do we still value?
What do we still trust?
What are we maintaining because it is genuinely reciprocal—and what are we maintaining because changing it would disturb the peace?

There is tension in this sky, particularly around Venus, Mars and Pluto.

But one thing I return to again and again in systems work is this:

Tension is feedback.

A healthy relationship, family, collaboration or creative system is not healthy because no one ever disrupts it.

It is healthy because it can receive information about its own functioning and adjust.

The invitation of this Libra New Moon is not to become less relational.

It is to become more honest inside relationship.

Do not make peace by disappearing from the agreement.

I realized recently that I’ve shared pieces of what I do for a long time without ever really explaining how they all fit together.

Artist. Photographer. Analyst. Astrologer. Energy worker. Researcher. Systems thinker.

For a long time those looked like separate paths.

I don’t think they are anymore.

The Charmed Compass has become the place where I’m allowing all of those parts of my work to meet.

I’m increasingly interested in the patterns that shape human experience, and what happens when we examine those patterns through more than one lens.

Data and intuition.
Systems and symbolism.
Technology and self-awareness.
Cycles and lived experience.

The question underneath much of my work now is:

How can we build systems that help us understand ourselves without asking those systems to define us?

I’m developing new frameworks, researching constantly, writing more, and building things I’m not quite ready to talk about publicly yet. 👀

But I am ready to start sharing more of the thinking behind them.

So if The Charmed Compass has seemed to be changing lately... it has.

And so have I.

What if some of the person you've worked so hard to become was shaped around what you learned you could not safely be?

That is one of the questions sitting underneath this Aries Full Moon.

The Aries–Libra axis is often reduced to self versus relationship: independence versus compromise, me versus we. But I'm more interested in what happens before that negotiation begins.

Who is the self entering the relationship?
Which desires are actually ours?
Which responses began as adaptations?
Which internal rules once protected belonging but are now quietly deciding what we're allowed to say, want, create, refuse, or become?

This is where the distinction between rebellion and authorship matters.
Rebellion can still let the old authority write the script. Conscious authorship asks what we choose once we stop organizing our lives primarily around either pleasing that authority or opposing it.

The September Virgo New Moon isn't asking you to perfect your life.
It's asking you to notice it.

To notice what works. What drains you. What you've outgrown. What keeps asking for repair. And perhaps most importantly, what you already know but haven't yet built into the way you live.

Coming after the Pisces lunar eclipse, this feels less like another revelation and more like the moment after revelation:

Now what will you do differently?

Because eventually insight has to enter the body, the calendar, the boundary, the conversation, the work.

It has to become practice.

What if the structure—not you—is what needs to change?

The September Virgo New Moon arrives with an invitation that goes deeper than productivity, routines, or getting our lives “together.”

Virgo asks us to notice what works. What drains us. What needs care. What keeps breaking.

Mars in Cancer gives that awareness somewhere to move.

And Pluto presses beneath the surface with a harder question:

Is this something you can refine—or are you trying to become better at maintaining a structure that no longer fits?

Sometimes the next step really is a better habit.

Sometimes it is a boundary.
A conversation.
A subtraction.
A different system.

Maybe you don't need another breakthrough.

Maybe you need somewhere for the last one to live.

Insight becomes practice.

There are endings that slam doors. And there are endings that behave more like water.

The August 28 Pisces Full Moon + partial lunar eclipse feels like the second kind.

This eclipse belongs to a Virgo–Pisces story that has been unfolding since September 2024. It is not technically the final eclipse in the entire sequence ♍ Virgo returns once more in February 2027, ♓ but it is the final Pisces eclipse of this chapter.

What makes this eclipse especially interesting is the rest of the sky. The Pisces Moon opposes the Virgo Sun and Mercury, while Uranus in Gemini squares all three in an extraordinarily tight mutable T-square.

So this is not simply a “let go and surrender” Full Moon. Something may change the way we understand the story itself.

A new piece of information.
A conversation.
An admission.
A realization that makes an old belief impossible to continue carrying.
And still: revelation does not always require immediate reaction.

Sometimes the mind changes first.
A life has furniture.

There comes a point when knowing who you are is no longer enough. Your life begins asking for evidence.

That sentence has been following me through this Leo eclipse.

Because Leo isn't only about visibility. And this eclipse isn't simply asking us to be louder, bolder, more confident, or more "magnetic."
It's asking whether the person we've become privately has somewhere to live publicly.

In our work.
Our relationships.
Our boundaries.
Our calendars.
Our choices.

A few days before the eclipse, I found an empty bird's nest directly in my path after a day filled with nature, friendship, synchronicity, and conversations about exactly this kind of becoming.

Nothing was wrong with the nest.
Its season of being inhabited was simply over.
And I haven't stopped thinking about that.

Some identities are like that too.
They held us. They protected us. They gave us somewhere to become.
And then one day we realize:
I don't live there anymore.

Sometimes the most meaningful work doesn't happen behind a computer screen.

Today’s lunch time was spent harvesting a small batch of my Queen Anne's Lace under an overcast Full Moon sky, drawing from a centuries-old flower essence tradition with equal parts curiosity, reverence, and research.

I don't believe we have to choose between science and wonder. I think the most interesting discoveries happen when we hold both with open hands.

This is part of my own journey: learning from the plants, listening to the seasons, asking better questions, and documenting what I find.

One of the things I love about plants is that they teach us timing. I'll return to these same Queen Anne's Lace plants later in the season to work with them in a completely different stage of their life cycle. Nature reminds us that purpose evolves.

I'm documenting each stage, comparing traditional folklore, herbal history, and my own observations. We'll see what unfolds.

I'm trying to share more of the journey, not just the finished work. Here's to following curiosity wherever it leads.
