About LACSI Latin American & Caribbean Studies Institute – UGA
The Latin American and Caribbean region has had major social, cultural, political, and economic impacts on the United States. That influence has increased dramatically over the last several decades, especially in the state of Georgia. Establishing a comprehensive understanding of the region and its peoples, including those who have come to the United States from Latin American/Caribbean countries, has become critically important in the state. LACSI's primary mission is to promote research, instruction, and service & outreach on Latin America, the Caribbean, and the U.S. Latinx community.
