Raising Wilds and Chasing Wonder

This past week we adventured in Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah….it was absolutely magnificent! Most of the hiking trails around the rim were paved and very easy for littles to navigate. There are some more difficult hikes, as well, but we felt like we saw so much with barely leaving the paved path. Definitely a bucket list place if it’s not on there already!

One of the most beautiful place we’ve been is in Glacier National Park….we fished in so many different lakes and rivers in that area! Where is your favorite place to fish?

One of the best places to surround yourself with nature is in Aspen, CO. We absolutely love the ACES area near downtown Aspen! It is a nature and science center, so be sure to check the hours before you go. It was a gorgeous day!

One of our favorite ways to cook while camping is with our Skottle Grill. It’s similar to a wok on three legs and works great for all kinds of foods!

When we were on our three week road trip adventure I decided to re-read The Call of the Wild + Free. I wondered if it would be different when we were out exploring some of the best that nature has to offer, rather than just sitting on my couch. It was…it reaffirmed my choice to homeschool and raise my kids living and breathing nature, seeing the beauty in the small things, and truly taking everything in that they can.

I have been planning our homeschool year and I am so excited to use this book. I checked it out from the library to preview it and I love the ideas!

Reese’s or plain chocolate?? I’m definitely a Reese’s girl!

We took a quick day trip to Buena Vista on Friday. The Mt Princeton Hot Springs were fun, but I thought a bit expensive for what there is to do (it was almost $200 for the five of us and three slide passes). A huge hit was Louie’s Ice Cream on Main Street after. I had the caramel butter toffee scoop and it was delicious!
What is your favorite hot springs? I would still have to say Iron Mountain in Glenwood for adult time and Avalanche Ranch for the atmosphere!

One of our favorite things to do together is paddleboard! My little lady was able to stand up and was very confident at finding her way. I have an NRS belt style pfd that I love for lake paddling….what do you wear?
