The 3rd generation of the Schlosser family made her appearance and teaching debut yesterday with our Ashtabula second year students.
Miss Emma came to class with Mimi Betsy Schlosser and Papa Bruce Schlosser to show off all her toddler skills. She laughed, was a little dramatic, sang, cared for her babydoll, played hide n seek, showed us sign language, played with balls and balloons, called for Ashley and even had the class dance with her.
This visit showed students what normal development looks like, how important play and silliness is when working with children and how kids can be ahead of the curve - like Emma. Rehab requires understanding what “normal”looks like in order to better treat a person with a presentation that looks different than normal.
Thank you Andrea and Zach Schlosser for allowing Emma to join Betsy and Bruce for class! And a special extra thanks to Bruce for allowing our students to ask you questions about ur progress!

PTA students providing massage and ‘impaired’ co****le demonstrations for the community at the 9/11 Remembrance event provided by the Kent State East Liverpool Campus 😊

Kent State University at East Liverpool is collaborating with the East Liverpool Fire Department and area first responders to host The Never Forget-Community Remembrance event this Thursday to commemorate the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001.

The free outdoor event will be held from 4-7 p.m. that day on the East Liverpool Campus and will include family-friendly activities; information tables, free refreshments and displays of emergency vehicles (based on availability). All first responders who attend will receive remembrance pins.

Students from the associate degree in nursing, occupational therapy assistant and physical therapist assistant programs will be on site with interactive displays and blood pressure screenings.

The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive in Purinton Hall that day from 1-6 p.m. Participants can pre-register online at redcrossblood.org (code 43920) while walk-ins will also be accepted.

The Friends of Kent State East Liverpool organization is providing free food and beverages for the day.
