Thank you to for welcoming Loblolly poet (and poetry editor!!) on Sept 26 as part of their Poetry Showcase, performing alongside fellow phenomenal poets & Dani Janae. If you’re in ATL, please help Entler close out the first leg of their book tour for Of Water Never Ceasing which has now been out for nearly three months!

There is a hybrid option to attend virtually, from wherever you are as long as you have internet access. All attendance is free, but hybrid attendance does require registration, found on the Charis website.

We've seen a few orders coming in through Amazon and yes we are calling you out when you have a much better alternative that pays writers, the Press, and the distributor fairly for their work

Andrew here -- sharing a quick update that I'm going on fall break until October 12th. While you'll still see us around on social media and substack (thanks to our incredible volunteer editors and contributors!!), I won't be here to hand-pack and ship all of your lovely orders... womp womp.

That being said, stepping away as an entrepreneur, even for a short time brings up all kinds of anxiety like "what if people forget about us?" "what if no one buys anything at all from us?" "will this thing still be here when I get back?"

The focus for me this year was to build out the infrastructure I needed to be able to take a step back at times and let the machine run without fueling it always with my own personal energy. Having volunteer editors and readers was the first part of that and the next part was making sure we were available through distribution.

So here are THREE ways you can continue to support Loblolly Press while I'm away!! Rest assured, if you already placed an order, it either has already shipped or will be shipping soon (we're waiting on one batch of replacement Understory Vol 1 to be able to ship remaining bundles 🙏🏻 ). Orders placed today or after will ship October 12th or right after.

We're in stock through our distributor Asterism though, so please purchase directly from there!! Finally, you can consider becoming a member to support us year round.

Thank you all for everything you do to keep us going.

In dramatic news, we've completely sold out of our first print run of Understory Volume 2. We are SO grateful for the outpouring of love and support for this little (but big) lit mag. We'll be restocking in October but in the meantime, we'll be in stock for Understory via our distributor Asterism here while supplies last: https://asterismbooks.com/product/understory-an-anthology-from-the-american-south

If you've already placed your order, but have not received it, rest assured that it's on the way. We're working to get everything out the door as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please don't purchase from Amazon or big box retailers -- we barely see those funds which means those purchases don't support future volumes of Understory!

We're stepping it up big time and we will need all the help we can get. Consider becoming a member today on our site (https://www.loblollypress.com/products/loblolly-membership-annual) and not only will you get 20% off every purchase from loblollypress.com, a free chapbook, and a free copy of Understory Volume 2, you'll ALSO get early access to a secret exclusive deal that we're cooking up for November.

Stay tuned, and welcome to the Press 2027 writers!

Tomorrow is the last day to pre-order Understory Volume 2 before it starts shipping TOMORROW! If you're hoping to get the first printing, first issue of our second volume of our Southern arts and culture anthology before everyone else, now is the time.

Also right now you can get both volumes of Understory together for $6 off + free shipping. Volume I and Volume II ship together starting tomorrow, so your set arrives in one package. We've set aside only about 15 bundles, and once they're gone the offer ends. Claim yours while supplies last.

We are just starting to find the words to say thank you for how much support we received at Indie Craft Parade this year -- truly one of the best experiences since starting the Press. It can be lonely starting a business, but knowing we'll carry these words with us wherever we go makes it all feel worth it. Thanks for everyone who used our typewriter to write such beautiful (odd, silly, playful, 67) words and also to everyone who bought a book. Thanks for supporting indie publishing in the South 📚
