2026 NC Beef System Field Day will be held at the Mountain Research Station, 265 Test Farm Rd., Waynesville, NC 28786 on June 6, 2026 from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. This is a free event, and lunch will be provided.

Proper herbicide application is one of the most important tools livestock producers have for maintaining productive pastures and high-quality hayfields. However, even the best herbicide program can fall short if a sprayer is not properly calibrated.

To help producers improve their application accuracy and learn practical calibration techniques, the WNC Beef Cattle Commission and local partners will host a Sprayer Calibration Informational Meeting and Demonstration on March 19th at 6:00 PM at the WNC Regional Livestock Center. Come and join us!

Join us next week for an educational meeting on Protecting your Farm! Buncombe County Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Program is providing a meal and there will be great fellowship!

The 2025 WNC Dairy Steer Program is almost a wrap! We’re excited to take them to the WNC Regional Livestock Center in the morning and offer them for sale. They will sell in 6 lots with multiple calves in each.

These kids have raised these calves for the last 164 days, bottle fed twice a day for months, and worked every one of those days to train them to show. Ring experience is an incredible benefit of the program but we also are proud that the kids complete a feeder steer project, which includes selling them tomorrow! Please consider joining us in the morning at 11:30 at the stockyard!
