🎓✨ A big thank you to Randolph Community College for welcoming our Freedom School scholars and giving them the opportunity to visit and tour the campus! We loved exploring, learning, and helping our scholars envision their future beyond high school.

A special shoutout to Morgen English and Brandon Watt for being such wonderful tour guides and making our visit so memorable! 💙📚

Today we celebrate National Day of Social Action (NDSA). This year, NDSA shines a light on the importance of mental health and social-emotional wellness.

Our scholars and SLIs used their minds and voices to inspire change and advocate for mental health and social-emotional wellness. Together, they proved that every voice matters and every action can make a difference. We learned we can break the stigma, support one another, and build stronger, healthier communities.

A familiar face and a favorite guest! 💙 Today we welcomed CIS staff member, Mr. Watson—better known to many of our scholars as Coach Watson—as our Guest Reader. He was greeted with countless hugs and smiling faces, a true reflection of the meaningful relationships he has built with ACS students. Thank you, Coach Watson, for sharing your time, your heart, and your love of reading with us!

What a fantastic week at Freedom School! 🌟

Our scholars explored, discovered, and created unforgettable memories all week long. We wrapped up an exciting STEM Night where families joined in on hands-on learning, curiosity, and fun. Then we headed out on an amazing field trip to Bowman Dairy Farm, where scholars learned about life on the farm and where our food comes from. 🐄🚜

Of course, no dairy farm adventure would be complete without a sweet treat! 🍦 Everyone enjoyed delicious ice cream from Homeland Creamery, making the day even more memorable.

A huge thank you to the Asheboro Public Library for bringing their Mobile Library to our Freedom School scholars! 📚 Your visit helped spark curiosity, encouraged a love of reading, and reminded our scholars that learning can happen anywhere.

We’re also incredibly grateful to the North Carolina Zoo for providing an engaging enrichment program where scholars built their own solar ovens to make s’mores! ☀️🍫🔥
