Instructional consultant John O’Connor of Great Instruction, Inc. recently visited Turner County Middle School and Turner County High School to conduct classroom observations and provide instructional feedback. His work with our schools focuses on strengthening instructional practices through meaningful student practice, purposeful feedback, and strategies that keep students actively engaged in the learning process. These classroom visits also provide an opportunity to identify areas of strength and determine where additional support can have the greatest impact.
During his visit, O’Connor focused on the importance of practice turns and feedback cycles, giving students frequent opportunities to demonstrate their learning, receive timely feedback, and use that feedback to continue improving. His visit is just one part of this ongoing work. O’Connor will return in the coming weeks to provide professional learning for teachers and work alongside them in classrooms to put these strategies into practice. This continued support will allow teachers to see the strategies in action and consider how they can be incorporated into daily instruction. Turner County Schools appreciates this partnership and the opportunity to continue investing in strong teaching and meaningful learning experiences for our students.
