Meet our founder: Julia Walker
Julia is a resident of Arvada who wanted to help the community when COVID was shutting everything down. Through a conversation with her son, they set out on a mission to make sure people were fed. A small table, an empty parking lot and some food is how this all began. From a single table of free food every Sunday, the community answered the call to support one another and showed Arvada what community really means.
From there, this effort quickly grew into an official non-profit when Julia was asked to continue the work. HCC came to be on June 9th,2020 and has been positively impacting families ever since.
Julia is a local community member, single mom to two children, a dog mom, works a full time job and oversees the growth and development of Hope Connection and Community. However; Julia is not alone on the path of serving her community. Since the beginning there have been hundreds of volunteers, donors, community partners and more who have stood with her to make HCC what it has become today. It truly takes a village to make this effort a successful reality.
Since June of 2020 HCC has developed 6 programs intended to fill the gaps and improve the quality of life for families and children in need.
1. Eat Well/ Live Well: grocery program
2. Kutz 4 Kidz: Free haircuts for kids twice a year
3. Hope for Kids: School supplies and new school clothes.
4. Santa’s workshop: Free gifts for underprivileged children.
5. Project Prom: Free prom dresses and accessories for local high school students
6. WeeCycle diaper program: Providing free diapers and wipes to families in need every month.
The programs developed and resources provided since 2020 have served over 5,500 children in Arvada and Jefferson County!
Because of the work Julia and HCC have done, they were awarded the non-profit of the year for 2022 and push forward to grow and make a difference in the lives of so many every day.
Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey with Julia and being part of the HCC family.

Principal Brandon Hall collaborates with school families in what is quite possibly the first School Accountability Committee (SAC) meeting in all of Jeffco this school year. Strong turn out, great questions, and of course, hot dogs!

Hi all. I’ve had a few questions about when Picture Day is. We are scheduled for October 3rd. We use Lifetouch, which I believe is the same company District-wide.

Our calendar is on our website, at the back of the handbook .

By all estimates, roughly 500 Timberwolves attended our back to school nite tonight. Thanks to all the staff that kept the night going smoothly and for everyone being all in!
