Congratulations to Gina Nelson on her retirement after 32 years of teaching Tech Ed at Drake Middle School!

Oftentimes you will overhear parents telling their children that Ms. Nelson was *their* teacher when they went to Drake.

Gina began her time in Jeffco as a Kindergartener, and since becoming a teacher has taught countless students throughout her career.

Today Drake celebrated the occasion by wearing camouflage, sharing memories, and looking at a mural created by Ms. Dunn of her yearbook photos from each year since 1994.

Thank you for dedicating your career to Jeffco students, Ms. Nelson!

What an amazing night of 6th grade music! Both our orchestra and band knocked it out of the park! No crashing out for these kids! Thank you Ms. Coy and Ms. Wilson for teaching these kids to love playing music.

Today was “Dragon Day,” where 5th grade students who will be attending Drake next year were given tours of the school and also got to enjoy scenes from an encore performance of “The Lightning Thief - The Percy Jackson Musical,” which completed an AMAZING run this weekend!

Thank you to all of the students who came in on their day off to provide a welcoming experience for our future Dragons! 🐲

Today our Dragons were treated to a preview of “The Lightning Thief - The Percy Jackson Musical” 🎭

The show opens this Thursday evening (April 30), and runs through Saturday night (May 2). There are two casts (Monsters and Gods), and FOUR shows to catch!

Our 8th Grade Orchestra recently traveled to San Francisco to perform at the National Orchestra Festival. 🎻

After months of hard work and preparation, the students represented our school with pride and earned an Excellent Plus (II+) rating along with several outstanding marks from the judges. 🏆

Beyond the performance, the trip gave students the opportunity to explore a new city, spend time together, and create lasting memories. 🌉

We are incredibly proud of their dedication and grateful to the parent volunteers who helped make this amazing experience possible! 😊

For Kindness Week, Drake students volunteered their recess time to make “no-tie blankets” that will be donated to patients at Children’s Hospital. 💕
