Music Teachers National Association Announces
Teacher Honor Roll Initiative to Celebrate Educators
Music Teachers National Association announces a new program dedicated to honoring music educators around the world. The MTNA Teacher Honor Roll, an initiative of the MTNA FOUNDATION FUND, allows individuals to recognize and celebrate the educators who have significantly impacted their lives. A donation of $50 per designee honors a teacher or multiple teachers who have inspired, guided and supported individuals in their musical journeys.
“This donation not only serves as a heartfelt tribute to those who have made a difference, but also contributes to the broader mission of the MTNA FOUNDATION FUND, which supports music education programs and professional development for teachers nationwide,” says MTNA CEO Brian Shepard.
When making their tax-deductible donation to the Teacher Honor Roll, donors may provide an email address for their honoree to receive a personalized email from the national headquarters acknowledging their contribution to the field of music education. Donors also have the option to include a memory, quote or photo to be used for publicity purposes when they complete the online donation form. Teachers may be recognized posthumously.
The Teacher Honor Roll is now open at the FOUNDATION FUND website. All contributions to the program must be received by 3:00 P.M. Eastern Time, January 31, 2025. All educators honored will be listed on the MTNA FOUNDATION FUND website and on signage at the 2025 MTNA National Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
“This gesture of appreciation not only uplifts the honored teachers but also strengthens the community of music educators, fostering a culture of recognition and gratitude,” says MTNA FOUNDATION FUND Development Committee Chair Timothy Blair. “By participating in the Teacher Honor Roll, you help ensure the legacy of exceptional music teaching continues to thrive.”
