Yesterday was our last day with students at Blanton Elementary.
Before the building says goodbye, the halls were walked one last time to capture the classrooms, the memories, the people, and the feeling of a place that meant so much to so many.
For generations, Blanton was more than a school. It was a second home filled with laughter, learning, friendships, growth, and countless little moments that mattered more than we realized at the time.
These halls celebrated little victories, carried big dreams, and helped shape generations of students, staff, and families.
Thank you to every student, teacher, staff member, family, and community member who helped make Blanton special through the years.
Once an Eagle, always an Eagle. 💙

We were honored to welcome newly elected District 5 City Councilwoman Brittney Garcia-Dumas to Blanton Elementary today for Teacher Appreciation Week.
She spent time visiting classrooms, reading to our students, and showing appreciation for the incredible work our teachers do each day. Our students loved hearing her stories and spending time with a community leader who truly values education and the people who make schools special.
Thank you, Councilwoman Dumas, for taking the time to invest in our students, encourage our teachers, and support the Blanton community. 💙🦅

Mrs. Castillo is the new principal at Gertrude Johns Elementary! 🥳🥳🥳 🐆
Big congratulations to our newest Arlington ISD principals! 🎉
Tonight we celebrated Migdalia Castillo, Dr. Thomas Flagg, and Jerod Zahn as they step into their new leadership roles.
Migdalia Castillo brings more than two decades of educational experience and a strong commitment to student success to her new role as principal of Johns Elementary. She currently serves as principal at Blanton Elementary, where she has demonstrated strong leadership since 2023.
Dr. Thomas Flagg offers a powerful blend of instructional leadership and fine arts expertise. With nearly 20 years in education and his current role as associate principal at the Center for Visual and Performing Arts, he is well‑prepared to lead as principal of Gunn Junior High Fine Arts and Dual Language Academy.
Jerod Zahn brings extensive leadership experience, having served as principal at both Shackelford and Ferguson Junior High, along with multiple assistant principal and teaching roles across Arlington ISD. We’re excited to welcome him as the new principal of Rodriguez Junior High.
👏 We cannot wait to see everything you accomplish in these new roles, congratulations!
