The new welding bracers are available!

These bracers were codeveloped by my brother who is a welder finishing up his professional certificates. They are made with durable, 8-10oz, water buffalo leather and lace up in only 5 seconds! (per arm). Convenient and protective.

Plus, for your non-dominant hand, there are also knuckle shields that button onto the bracers. These add an extra layer of protection over your welding gloves.

Eclipse day! No leather post.

Enjoyed some light and shadow experiments with family and friends. Photos and videos do convey how dark it gets, but not how dark it *feels*. It was amazing.

1) my (fuzzy) picture of totality

4) *mostly* full daylight picture of red and green
5) at totality, the red and green get really washed out and muted
6) objects aligned with the direction of transit cast fuzzy shadows, objects perpendicular cast sharp shadows
7) image of the crescent sun in our pinhole camera
8 ) as mentioned in 5, a slit in paper aligned perpendicular to transit will cast a sharp line of light
9) as in 5, a slit in paper aligned with transit will cast a line so fuzzy it almost disappears
10) leaves casting crescent shadows.

First pattern of the year, and my first bag pattern!

This construction works well as either a shoulder bag, or a belt bag, or you could even mount it as a hip bag!

The bag was designed as an homage to the Swedish Ma**er ammo pouches used in WWII. As such, it looks really great with OD green canvas, but it works well with just leather too. The multi-adjustment cinch strap also allows the bag to be the perfect size, no matter what you fit inside it!

My daughter was born Saturday night, so I have not been able to get the new pattern finalized and published. I am hoping for this coming Monday.

As is tradition here, instead of a new pattern for December, I have published a value bundle of patterns. This year is the Star Lord bundle! This includes the GotG Vol. 2 gaiters and belt, as well as the helmet and 3D models of the belt hardware. All of this for $18 less than the total value of the patterns. (Man! I need to find a better-looking model to display my products, lol)

With that out of the way, it is time I make a couple announcements:

If you've been following Leviathan Leatherworks for a while, you know that for the last 6 months or so I have been struggling to keep up with my intended pace of 1 pattern per month. This is down to many factors, including my day job and personal life, but also because I have been trying to expand the business to offer more, and more varied, products!

TL;DR, I have been pushing myself too hard recently and it's starting to show.

I have been doing a lot of thinking, praying, and consulting friends and family, and have come to a solution for the foreseeable future:
1) I am going to take a two-month break from pattern-making, both to recover and to prepare for the birth of my daughter in late January.
2) Moving forward, for at least 2024, I will be stepping down my pattern production from 1/month to 1 every two months. This should give me the much-needed time to both maintain product quality and work on expanding the business.

More than three weeks after its scheduled release, I am finally able to announce the publishing of the Wastelander Santa Pauldron pattern!

I wanted this to be in the same theme as last year's Wastelander Santa Gaiters, but I was also inspired by the idea of using a real license plate, seat belt, and buckle on a less Christmassy one.

Hey everyone! I know the page has been quiet for a while, so I just wanted to let you know that I am still working on the new pattern. I have completed the prototype, now I just need to draw up the pattern, make the Santa version, and write the instructions.
