Day 4 of Camp Invention in Arlington ISD we decided to host an Invention Showcase. This is where we invited parents and families to come and experience camp by taking a "tour" and going through all the sessions. They were able to see all of the campers awesome inventions, meet their camp instructors, and the leadership interns. It was a great way to end an incredible week of camp!

It has been a great week at Camp Invention in Arlington ISD. Today, we took our group pic with almost all our campers and leadership interns. We took a smiling pic and a silly pic. It was a challenge to get over 120 people together doing the same thing, but we mostly got it! We also got a pic of all of our Camp Invention GT Lead teachers who served as the staff this year!

Day 3 of Camp Invention in Arlington ISD has been fantastic!!! The campers are doing so many amazing things-from creating their own planet models to building billboard boats, and all the upcycling materials have really come in handy. The campers found a plethora of resources to make their products and inventions look very cool. The campers also created a billboard to advertise their boats and did some more investigating with their capybara "stuffies." The campers played a "poison" dart frog game and some played Mrs. Mumble Mouth (see the video), and many kindness posts were made, some had crazy hair day, and all in all, the campers had fun learning, using teamwork, and problem solving.

Today during Base Camp at Camp Invention In Arlington ISD, campers showed their gratitude and kindness by writing thank you notes and encouraging messages to the cafeteria staff, the custodians, the camp instructors, camp interns, and each other. It was a great way to spend our lunch time break.

Camp Invention uses A LOT of upcycled materials to help create and design their inventions. We are so thankful for all the campers and their families for their donations. Day 2 at Camp Invention in Arlington ISD was fantastic. We had so much fun, and the campers really started making some cool inventions. We might have broken the record for most washers on a foil boat, who knows?! Today, the campers started growing crystal trees and examining their own fingerprints. They made prototypes and modifications to their wearable devices. They made human knots and used their teamwork skills in a competitive game. Campers also wrote positive notes to other campers and staff members to encourage them. Some groups finished launching their rockets today as well. It was another great day of problem-solving and hands-on learning. Some campers also “Hit the Sea Lion” during Base Camp, which was a sight! We had a time today!!!

Kids thrive at Camp Invention in Arlington ISD as they jump into hands-on fun and grow through enriching STEM experiences carefully crafted to spark joy and ensure the development of persistence, adaptability and creative problem-solving skills.
Today, they played games, had a rock-paper-scissors battle, built DIY space rockets, did some detective work and learned some reverse engineering, did some hands-on buoyancy challenges, and developed their own secret code. Stay tuned for all their awesome adventures this week!!!

Eight of our amazing GT Lead Teachers from Arlington ISD launched Camp Invention today. They greeted over 90 campers and their families with the support of Advanced Academics Director, Dr. Zeske, and over 30 leadership interns, who are volunteering their time this week. The next four days will be a great time of learning as our young innovators embark on one-of-a-kind summer adventure! Exciting, hands-on challenges will spark curiosity and build their confidence as they dive into limitless STEM fun full of opportunities to imagine, experiment and create. Stay tuned all week for updates!
