Meet Saanya Khanna, an Information Technology Intern at GM Financial Saanya is pursuing a degree in Information Systems (INSY) at the University of Texas at Arlington’s College of Business and is expected to graduate in 2026.

As an IT Intern, Saanya supported daily technology operations in a hybrid work environment. She assisted with troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supported desktop and mobile devices, and helped manage IT assets and equipment. Her role also included maintaining organized IT workspaces, ensuring device readiness for deployment, and supporting documentation and ticketing processes to resolve issues efficiently.

During her internship, Saanya contributed to improving operational efficiency by carefully documenting technical issues and solutions, helping reduce repeat support requests. Looking ahead, Saanya plans to pursue technology-focused roles that combine systems expertise, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making. This experience strengthened her interest in information systems and analytics while providing valuable exposure to enterprise IT environments that support large-scale business operations.

Reflecting on the experience, Saanya shared, "I would recommend internships to other UTA students because they provide valuable real-world experience and professional exposure beyond the classroom. Through this internship, I developed practical technical skills, improved my communication abilities, and learned how to collaborate in a professional team setting. Internships also help students build confidence, expand their professional networks, and make more informed career decisions."

Best of luck, Saanya, as you continue building your path in information systems and technology leadership.
