Who says prepping for STAAR has to be boring? Our 8th RLA teachers prepared a fun, TEKS based review relay for today’s lesson! Our teachers have helped keep the countdown to STAAR fun and interactive, because at Nichols we believe we can make fun memories while getting geared up for STAAR! Thank you Ms. Cleveland and Ms. Martinez!! Tomorrow is Science & History Saturday School 8:30-12:00. Breakfast provided. Comfy attire is fine.

So many good things at Nichols JH last week! Our Gateway students presented their robotics designs and did a fabulous job! Beginner saxophones serenaded the front office. Band is preparing for UIL and sounded great. Our Sweepstakes Orchestra sounded beautiful! 🥹 And 7th grade athletics had an incredible lesson where all students were focused and listening and in sync. Hello Family! We had our 1st Annual Picnic with the Parents event today. We had over 130 parents show up to have lunch today! We are already planning to make next year bigger and better. It was a fun time making memories with parents and students. Thank you so much. Enjoy your spring break!

Hey Family! We celebrated our 8th graders today! Over 200 students qualified for the pizza party! All in all D.R. Horton Homes sponsored over $600 for students who raised the bar and met their growth goal and/or earned meets or masters on Science and History! The great news was they were all so helpful in cleaning up after themselves. At 4:10, 232 students left a celebration with not a single plate, pizza crust, Gatorade bottle or soda can left on the table. The Mustang Way! Leave Your Legacy, Mustangs! (I got less pics bc we were busy passing out pizza 😅)

🎉🏈 Sports Fan Picnic – Friday, March 13! ⚽🏀

Parents, guardians, and family members are invited to join us for our Sports Fan Picnic at Nichols Jr. High! Bring lunch, wear your favorite team jersey, and enjoy time with your student before spring break.

Lunch Times:
7th Grade – A: 11:20–11:53 AM | B: 11:55–12:26 PM
8th Grade – C: 12:30–1:02 PM | D: 1:05–1:35 PM

After the picnic, you may sign out your student to start spring break early.

📌 Important Reminders:
• All guests must enter through the front of the school.
• If the front parking lot is full, please park in the back and walk around to the front entrance.
• Anyone eating with a student or signing out a student must be listed on the student’s pick-up list in Frontline.

We had a pizza party for the 7th graders who showed growth on their Benchmark reading and math test. We had to spend over $300 on pizza there were so many students who reached or exceeded their growth goal! Thank you to D.R. Horton Homes for your continued partnership to make this celebration possible. Thursday we will celebrate our 8th graders, and the numbers are even bigger!!

Great things are happening in the Nichols Junior High Library!

Our scholars are taking the Ms. Kennard's Ride & Read Challenge, Financial Literacy Classes for Teens, and there is a waiting list for scholars to get strong bodies while reading books.

Shout-out to Officer Franklin, Mr. Hernandez, Mrs. Russell, and our Administrators for supporting me with the Ride & Read Grant implementation!

It is with great pride that we announce both our Non-Varsity and Varsity Orchestra earned straight 1s Sweepstakes at UIL! We are so proud of you! Our students prove the hard work leads to the accomplishments of our Mustangs. Thank you to Director Ms. Lorincz and Asst Director Ms. Cash!
