This is not a curriculum and not a test, just a supportive reference you can use alongside what you already love.

I was honored to be featured on the radio this week discussing early literacy, reading confidence, and how families can support children at home. 🎙️
These conversations matter—because when families understand how reading develops, kids thrive.
If this topic is close to your heart, I’d love for you to listen.

What does “connecting reading and writing” actually look like?
It can be as simple as:
• read one short article or story
• talk about the main idea
• write 1–3 sentences about it
That’s it.

What part of narrative writing does your child need the most support with?

I’ve been noticing something really important lately…
When reading gaps widen, writing struggles almost always follow.
Kids who only read snippets, passages, or worksheets miss out on the language patterns they need to become confident writers.
They miss the flow of sentences.
The rhythm of real stories.
The thinking that comes from experiencing a full book.
And when that foundation is thin, writing feels hard… or overwhelming… or something they want to avoid altogether.
I know many of us are seeing this from all angles, as parents, teachers, and tutors and sometimes it helps just to say it out loud:
📚 Reading is the foundation.
✏️ Writing is the structure.
One can’t stand strong without the other.
