One last—maybe—post for Wegener’s (GPA Vasculitis) Recognition Day 2024. This is from Montana, at a different location from that seen in the invitation. Mariah is walking for the cause. Her uncle, my brother, has vasculitis GPA which has robbed him of his ability to hike and damaged his heart (among other things) greatly—as this type of vasculitis can attack every organ in the body. Autoimmune runs in families. Get yourself or your loved ones checked if you suspect an autoimmune disease. Early diagnosis can be critical!

Maine, let us bring home. It has been 18 years. He was a kind soul, continues to be missed by his family and friends, and was part of the Seeds of Peace family.

19-year-old Siphat Chau has been missing since the early morning on December 24, 2005. He was last seen at the family residence between 12:30 and 1:00 a.m. Chau approximately 5’8”, and 140 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He may have been wearing a red sweatshirt, blue jeans, Timberland boots, a black suede jacket, and a beanie style hat.

If anyone has information that could help solve this crime, please call 207.874.8575. To provide information anonymously, call 207.874.8584 and leave a message on the department’s crime tip line. You may also text keyword “PPDME” and a message to 847411 (TIP411).

It is here! A walking guide created by my daughter Mariah Cameron Scee and me! I did the research, photography and writing, and Mariah created a fine map and cover art and put the whole thing together! You may pick up a copy at Mount Hope Cemetery! There may well be another project to come! Stay tuned.

The Arctic cold is moving in, and the latest forecast calls for as low as -24 degrees over night, and more than twice that low with the wind chill. The Penobscot River is quickly freezing again, and it will be dangerous for animals and people alike. The Bangor Humane Society is offering free pick ups and boarding for dogs and animals needing shelter. This is particularly critical and kind, as there are more warming shelters opening up across the state, but people cannot always take their animals there. And if you see an animal left outside, well, call someone. You may save an animal, and possibly a person too. Stay safe everyone.

It’s National Puzzle Day. The biggest puzzle is, how are we going to work together to find the solutions to the many problems we as a people and a nation and a world face?

I am no longer the library coordinator here (at least not at the moment!), as of September 1, but I still may visit, as I am now, and volunteer. This beautiful garden was created by volunteers, and more are needed, as they are in so many places. You may dig in, here or elsewhere.
