El Campanil Theatre Academy

We have a few more openings for our Costume Design class beginning April 10th!
Students will be part of a design team working alongside industry professional, Alia Davis Brown, to take from concept to reality, the costumes used for our major production of W***y Wonka Kids!
Students will also work backstage helping the actors with fittings and quick changes during the production!
This is an amazing opportunity to get hands-on experience on what it takes to become a professional costume designer in the performing arts world!

Mae Vidanez (Stage Manager) graduated last June from San Francisco State University with a Broadcasting and Electronic Communications degree. They have served as a mentor in theatre arts since 2011 as an alumnus of the Inside Out Community Arts program, teaching middle school students in under-resourced areas about the arts, media, and theatre.

Performances: 6/30 @ 7:00 PM, 7/1 @ 2:00 PM

When an out-of-order claw game suddenly turns back on, all of the toys are ecstatic! Well… all of the toys except for Dot, a terrified stuffed cow. Dot’s desperate to hold onto her home and her best friend, Aiden. Can Dot conquer her fear of the unknown with some help from the Flair Bears, Mighty Mutant Power Turtles, Beanie Elders, and the all-knowing Mystical 8-ball? Join the fun in ECTA’s two-week summer camp that will culminate in a fully-staged production of The Claw: A New Children’s Musical!

Anton Chekov’s classic, The Seagull, examines the personal and professional relationships of two writers and two actors in a rural Russian summer home. Fading leading lady Irina Arkadina has come to visit her brother Sorin, a retired civil servant in ailing health, with her lover, the successful hack writer Trigorin. Her son, brooding experimental playwright Konstantin Treplev, adores the ingenue Nina, who in turn is mesmerized by Trigorin. Their interactions slowly lead to the moral and spiritual disintegration of each of them and ultimately lead to tragedy.

Vocal Performance for Adults
Instructor: MaryJo Mundy
Ages: 18+
Classes: 6/5-7/10 (M, 7:30-9:30 PM)
Participation fee: $149

MaryJo Mundy’s vocal performance workshop for adults is open to all levels of experience and will teach you the art of storytelling with vocals and lyrics in order to broaden your ability to express yourself. The sessions will culminate in a showcase held at the El Campanil Theatre to show off what you’ve learned!

What you can expect: Everyone works each session, one on one attention, active coaching with a supportive atmosphere and teacher to guide you.

What you need to bring: Accompaniment tracks, sheet music for your songs, a recording device, your enthusiasm and a love of music!
