Billie has lived in the pond since last summer, but this is the only time I’ve ever gotten to hold her. 🥹🐸

She’s very elusive & I only handle froggies when I absolutely need to — for their safety or to remove them from the skimmer box/net. I had my husband take a video so I could try to ID her quickly before I set her back in the pond.

Billie is one of my faves (I even have a tattoo of her on my left arm) and I thought maybe she had moved on until I saw her this morning hiding in the skimmer box. 😭

Happy 🐸 It’s so quiet in the morning when the mating frogs have left the pond and it’s just the resident aquatic froggies.

Lots of eggs from the grey tree frogs, but they wash away so easily and usually suffer a lot of predation, so hopefully some will survive to become tadpoles. 🤞

Warm weather + rain = frog party 🐸🐸🐸

Mostly tree frogs with exactly (1) toad, and the resident green frogs were nowhere to be seen. 🤣

What a brave bb to land so close to me while I was checking on the pond. Grateful that all the local critters have access to this water despite the drought conditions and AI-driven proliferation of data centers. 🖤
