When we graduated, the Vietnam War was finally over, only hours before. So glad that we were too young to have been involved.

Today, 50 years later, we have an even greater crisis, but on our home soil, with massive peaceful protests reminiscent of the Vietnam War and against our current government. Regardless of what side your politics fall, I never thought I would see this sort of threat in our lifetime. I've spoken to a few of you about the current state of affairs and what is at stake.

I fully respect either point of view, but if you are so inclined, I have a Substack with over 6500 followers with posts about our current situation. My goal is academic discourse, but some people are unable to keep emotions and name-calling out of the conversation.

I write many, many short posts, trying to blend up-to-date news with a little levity/comedy to lighten things up. I also write longer posts that are researched as more of a magazine-type article on various topics of the day.

I was a longtime member of the GOP who is now in the disaffected group of John McCain-type members, who might be called RINOs, who are so sad to see the party gone astray with sycophants. I'm about to drop the GOP on my voter registration and will register as either no party affiliation or independent.

I remember sitting in 10th-grade French class next to Stephanie Jorgenson. She was for McGovern, and I was for Nixon during the 1972 election. What great memories.

How did we end up with 100 repeat posts from 2021's crab feast?

HI all, I just added "Annapolis, MD" to the end of our Class FaceBook page name.

As our 50th HS Anniversary approaches, it would be nice to virtually catch up with everyone as to what we've done since high school. LOL. This may frighten some, excite others and turn some off as they have pledged themselves to live a totally private life with no desire to be a part of any previous life, not enjoying the nostalgia, that I and others love. I understand all of that and respect your wishes to opt out.

I love looking at old pictures and videos saved by my father. I've even digitized many of my father's old 8mm movies and scanned hundreds of old pictures and posted them for my family to relive and enjoy. They really love seeing and reliving these memories. My wife doesn't enjoy this. I understand.

Others just don't like looking back, either because of memories that may not have been the greatest or for other tangible and less tangible reasons. OK.

Be that as it may. I will put together a live file with fields and dropdowns to allow you to fill in your block with some of the basic cornerstones of life events; college, jobs, wives, husbands, children, current location, etc. Nothing too probing, but really for fun, hopefully.

Sadly we have lost over 15 percent of our class, but it's amazing to see how 100 people from one town have spread throughout the nation and even the world with the twists and turns of life.

I'll put together something, send it out and you can participate or not as much as you desire to share or not.

If you are in prison or in the Witness Protection Program, I'll understand.

Hi All, We had what might be our last Crab Feast at Dave's house in St Margarets. He sold it and moved to South Carolina.
