The OT Class of 2025 had the opportunity to use virtual reality tools to explore augmented reality.

The 2025 Physical Therapy cohort attended a lab at MedSport at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube on Tuesday evening to learn about Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFR). BFR is used to improve strength and muscular hypertrophy in patients of all ages and abilities, including older adults who are deconditioned, athletes plagued with injury, and post-surgical patients. A PT and an AT from MedSport assisted in the lab and we look forward to more collaborations in the future!

The Occupational Therapy faculty, students, and staff were able to come together to enjoy breakfast and do a mentor-mentee reveal for both the Class of 2025 and 2026 revealing their student mentorships as well as capstone faculty mentor matches for the Class of 2026!

Students in the OT program at CUAA experienced hands-on experience with early mobilization of the medically complex patient in an intensive care unit simulation. This will prepare students for their acute care fieldwork experiences and future clinical practice.

OT students visited Mobility Works in Livonia, MI, a vehicle modification company, to learn about new technology and vehicle adaptations as well and the role of OT/Certified Mobility Consultants in supporting independence in driving. The students were able to have hands-on experience under the guidance of Kross Tekely with securing a wheelchair into a vehicle and consider impacts on a client and caregiver.
